Kelley brings a strong balance of both in-house and outside counsel experience to her employment counseling practice. She counsels clients on federal and state employment law issues, including hiring and termination, background checks, employee relations, wage and hour compliance, performance management and discipline, independent contractor and employee classification, restrictive covenants, leaves of absence, reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities, and reductions in force.Kelley manages internal investigations into discrimination and harassment complaints, ethics and conduct issues, and wage and hour compliance.Kelley prepares customized policies and procedures in compliance with federal and state employment laws, and provides training on a variety of topics, including investigations, harassment and discrimination prevention, and leaves of absence. Kelley also drafts and negotiates employment, non-disclosure/restrictive covenant, separation and related agreements.
Prior to joining MBWL, Kelley worked in-house for Publicis Groupe, a multinational public relations and advertising company. In her role as the Lead Employment Counsel for Publicis’s digital advertising and technology businesses in North America, Kelley advised human resources and business leadership on a variety of legal employment issues, managed the employment litigation, and supported all aspects of the merger and acquisition activity. Kelley’s prior responsibilities also included legal employment support of locations in Australia, China, Dubai and Singapore.Kelley started her legal career as an associate with the Employment, Labor and Benefits group of Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo, P.C. where she focused on employment counseling and litigation.
